i love jazz@pearls. the last beautiful night i went was to see a Nina Simone cover vocalist. When she solicited a request, i shyly restrained a call for "Black is the Colour." She ended up singing something else a little more afro. She told me later that the crowd would've loved "Black." one of the most calming, yet visceral songs of love i know. Before that, Sonada Quintet played latin brass bossa versions of stevie wonder ALL NIGHT. pretty hot.
